Welcome to West Coast Feeders!
There is a vast amount and variety of commercially produced "dragon food" available on the market today..... Including dried insects!
We choose not to use any of these products.
In addition to the fact that most dragons will show little interest in many of these products, they in no way resemble their natural diet. Bearded dragons are not your typical domesticated animal that can thrive on kibble and a bowl of water. A healthy dragon requires an appropriate selection of fresh vegetables and live prey daily to ensure optimal health, growth, absorption, and hydration. Please use care when purchasing live prey from the local pet store as most often they are kept on a deficient diet and are only supplied water for hydration. What your feeders eat is what your dragon is eating, therefore 'gutloading' is necessary before feeding the insects to your dragon.
